Description

of oval shape, the front of the plaque inscribed within a cartouche in kaishu script  zhaijie ('abstinence from eating meat'), enclosed with a lotus flower scroll border on a turquoise ground, repeated on the reverse with the same phrase in Manchu script, the sides with florets

Condition

Apart from some minor wear to the gilding, the overall condition is very good.
