Description

of flattened ovoid form supported on a flared foot and flanked at the neck by a pair of tubular handles, rising to a lipped rim, connected with a long openwork chain to the domed cover of conforming section surmounted by a finial carved with floral scrolls, all resting on a matching stand supported on four ruyi-shaped feet, the top of the stand finely carved in high relief with a flower-head with gently lobed petals, the stone of an even milky-white tone throughout and finished with a glossy polish

Condition

There is an area to the interior rim of the cover of approx 0.9cm which has been polished down as a result of a chip. There is a small nick to the edge of the stand on the exterior. Otherwise the piece is in good condition. The colour is slightly softer than the illustration depicts.
