A JADEITE VASE AND COVER QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY

Description

of cylindrical form flanked at the shoulders by a pair of beast handles suspending loose rings, with four vertical rows of angular fret flanges running up the sides of the vase, finely carved around the sides in low relief with a continuous landscape scene depicting the 'Eight Immortals' carrying their respective auspicious emblems, including Xi Wang Mu, with rolling waves below and swirling clouds rising above, set between bands of ruyi heads, the cover of conforming shape and carved with a floral scroll around the sides, similarly set with four rows of flanges, framing a small ball in the centre as the finial, the translucent stone of a mottled pale green tone    

Condition

The vase is in very good condition overall. There is a small brown inclusion on the bottom flange on one side (not illustrated).
