Catalogue Note
The present piece is notable for the naturalistic rendering of the feline facial features, and the care taken to depict the pads and paws of the animal. WIth a slightly upturned mouth, and the head tightly nestled against its the body, the carved conveys an expression of contentment in this relaxed position of repose.
