of rectangular section with two canted sides, surmounted by a recumbent mythical beast, its broad muscular body crouching on its haunches accented with sharp talons, the facial features defined by bulging eyes and sharp fangs below two horns, with a raised spine sweeping to a bushy tail, the seal face carved with the characters Ci miao tong wei ('To explore the profound meaning of life') , later incised on one side with the signature Fu an, the stone of a deep honey-yellow tone

The piece is in good condition, with only slight expected surface wear to the seal edges.
