finely potted, with rounded sides rising up to a slightly everted rim, all supported on a tall foot, the interior covered in a lustrous black glaze with streaks of russet splashes, the exterior predominantly coated with the russet skin revealing hints of the black glaze below, the lower body and foot unglazed revealing the light gray ware burnt slightly buff color in the firing, Japanese wood box (2)

The bowl was inspected under UV light and showed no fluorescence. It is in good condition, with minor surface abrasions on the interior well. The color is slightly more red than the catalogue image suggests.
