Description

carved and of jointed construction, the seated figure with one leg drawn up, clad in a courtier's hunting attire, with fierce expression and open mouth, the left hand holding his accoutrement, now lost

Condition

The sculpture is in several sections and it has old cracks which most are quite open over the ages. It once had white pigment but most of it are lost. Some parts are mssing including the right hand, tip of the sword (just beside left hand and the tip of the left foot. (as visible in the illustration). Also, the stick which goes through in the middle of the heargear are lost (small sections). The surface of the back is recarved to make it smooth.
