Description

of deep U-shape with a slightly everted lip, painted to the exterior with a tree trunk issuing two lateral branches on which three ripe pomegranates split open to reveal the red seeds, accompanied by smaller fruits and a copious array of leaves, all on a petite foot, Japanese wood box (2)

Condition

In good overall condition with a tiny glaze/enamel chip on one of the leaves 1/8 inch wide. The base with two small firing flaws on opposite sides of the seal mark, the largest 1/8 inch wide, with two pinpricks. Two tiny pinpricks on the rim.
