Description

naturalistically carved and pierced, the large fruit with gnarled stalk issuing two smaller fruit, the translucent stone of pale greyish-white tone with traces of the caramel skin 

Provenance

Acquired in Paris, 1959.

Condition

With the exception of the loss to the tip of the leaf on the lower half of the gourd, minor nicks to the extremities of the carving, small light patches of natural russet inclusions, and very minor overall scratching to the surface, the present piece is in very good condition.
