Description

the body of rectangular form with four graduated square in-curved legs, the body applied with two animal mask handles, painted with twelve lively five-claw dragons amongst clouds and flames, the stepped cover with bands of ruyi scrolls and trigrams, below a pierced dragon finial

Condition

With the exception of restoration to the snout of the dragon and repair to two corners of the cover, repair and repainting to a corner of the rim and neck of the censer (circa 2cm by 1cm), and to another corner (circa 1.5cm), restoration and repainting to one of the legs (possibly from a break), 3cm horizontal hairline cracks to two of the legs, overall pinhead-size burst glaze bubbles (including a 3mm diameter one to the rim), flakes to the glaze of the rim, overall firing and glazing imperfections and light surface scratches, this piece is in good condition.
