Description

the robustly potted broad-shouldered baluster body rising from a spreading flat base to a short waisted neck with rolled rim, slip decorated and brightly glazed in cream, yellow and turquoise with large lotus blossoms divided by cranes perched on rockwork issuing from foaming waves, all below a floral-filled ruyi-cloud collar and reserved on a rich dark blue ground, later domed and pierced wood cover

Condition

The jar is in good overall condition with the exception of a 5cm., hairline rim crack, old restoration and overpainting to approximately half of the neck, and light rubbing and scratching to the glaze.
