Description

the boldly potted rounded body supported by three animal-form feet issuing from animal masks and rising to a cylindrical neck and straight everted rim, covered overall with an even, crackled pale greyish-blue glaze

Condition

This censer is in good condition 13mm long bruise to the edge of the rim to one side and an area (approx 10mm diameter) of darker discolouration to the other. There is some crackle to the glaze throughout and a (8mm) firing flaw/crack adjacent to one leg. There is also three other firing faults/cracks to the underside (17mm, 6mm and10mm). There are also three firing flaws/cracks to the under side of the rim, where it meets the body and two small areas of glaze discolouration adjacent to another foot.
