The box and cover are in fair overall condition with the exception of some flaking and chipping to the rim and flange of the bopx (3 x 1.5cm., section with associated 2cm., vertical hairline crack to the body and associated further cracking and flaking to the red lacquer extending 8cm., around the rim; a 2.5 x 1cm., flake to the black lacquer at the flange; and further minor flakes, chips and cracks to the rim and flange), the cover with similar cracking and flaking to the red lacquer at the rim (a 4.5cm., section of loss to the red and black lacquer; a 16cm., wide rough area with associated loss and flaking to the black and red lacquer, an associated 3 x 1cm., loose section of the rim) a repaired 1x1cm., section of the rim, minor dents and rubbing and some tiny hairline age cracks through the upper layers.
