Description
the baluster body rising from a spreading foot to a tall cylindrical neck and flared rim, painted with the 'Eight Horses of Muwang' amongst pine trees and rockwork
Condition
The yenyen is in good overall condition with the exception of a 7x4mm., shallow rim chip, a 5x3mm., glaze flake to the top edge of the rim, rim fritting, a 5mm., diam., burst glaze bubble to the red horse at the shoulder, a 2mm., burst glaze bubble to the red horse at the neck, a band of tiny iron-spot glaze impurities encircling the bottom of the neck, minor short glaze firing lines to several of the horses and the trunk of the tree, and minor glaze scratches and firing imperfections.
