of rare form, carved in relief with two figures in a sampan with two herons, below pine trees and rocky outcrops

Condition

This finely carved bamboo brushpot is in good overall condition with the exception of nine short hairline age cracks extending up from the base (circa 1cm., long) and a 4cm., long ( 1mm. wide narrowing to a point) age crack extending from the base up the side of the vessel (just visible in the catalogue illustration) which has been partially consolidated with glue), light scratches around the exterior and some old staining to the interior.
