Description

the body naturalistically carved as a gnarled tree trunk, the exterior further carved and pierced in high relief with a pair of cranes standing beside a large pine tree, bamboo and lingzhi sprays, the wood patinated to a rich chocolate brown tone

Condition

With the exception of a restoration (approx. 5mm) to the rim; a small loss of carving to the end of the branch above the left crane; tiny nicks to the extremities of the carving; and minute nibbles to the edge of the rim, this brushpot is in very good condition.
