Description

the exterior of the lid carved with figures on horseback in a mountainous landscape with pine trees and bamboo, the sides densely carved with branches of flowering prunus, with a thin band of silver-inlaid key-fret at the rim of the cover and the base

Condition

The box and cover are in good overall condition with the exception of a hairline age crack running across the base of the box, some repair to the cover and base joints(possible re-attachment of the top to sides and base to the sides), small areas of loss to the keyfret silver inlay, minor nibbles and dents to the rims and base of the box and cover and some light scratches to the exterior.
