Description
naturalistically carved in high relief the large fruit issuing a leafy gnarled stalk to one end, the interior of the cover deeply and finely carved with a butterfly on a floral spray, the box with an erotic bedroom scene, the ivory patinated to a warm honey tone on the exterior
Condition
This rare box and cover are in very good condition with the exception of a 15mm., wide crescent-shaped repair to the inner flange of the box.
