First edition, with the virtually unknown jacket, which was printed on highly acidic paper. Laid in is an autograph letter signed by Remington, 1 page. Chippewa Bay, New York, 21 July 1902, to "My dear Russell": "Will there be any royalties coming to me 1st of August? Have you concluded how and when you are going to publish my 'Way of an Indian'?"
