Condition

A striking piece of good overall appearance. Circular top is a later replacement. Some of the natural fissures have been filled, typical of this stone. One section to the underside edge has filler, suggesting this area has been restored. Minor old marks and scratches in places. Top of carved base with Tajan auction label for George V Hotel auction, November 1997. Of good structural condition. One or two minor chips to 'toes' of feet. A well modelled piece which is ready for use and display.
