Provenance
Christies New York, A Highly Important European Collection of Art Nouveau and Art Deco, 11 June 1998, lot 310
Condition
This impressive piece is of good overall appearance. The base with one area of a polishing on the top of the long edge, unsigned side (front right edge per catalogue illustration). This runs for approximately 16cm. There is an area of polishing affecting the other side, diagonally opposite. It is to the outer foliage across the curved area below the bird’s left claw. From the top in succession three leaves have been polished, one leaf is missing and then a further three leaves have been polished and are reduced in thickness. A couple of very minor, tiny air bubbles and seeds but these are part of the manufacturing process and these are not distracting. Ready for display.
