folio, 2 volumes, large paper edition, 24 mezzotint plates engraved by John Martin, contemporary crimson straight-grained morocco, spines gilt in compartments, gilt edges and fore-edge paintings (volume one shows Eve picking the forbidden fruit and volume two shows the expulsion from Paradise), bookplates removed, extremities slightly rubbed

Condition

Bookplates removed, spotting to the plates and often to the adjacent leaves, joints strengthened, boards slightly scuffed and rubbed at extremities.
