231 by 179mm., ink and watercolour drawing, signed 'A Rackham' in lower right corner, mounted, framed and glazed
An original watercolour developed from the tail-piece to 'The Thrush's Nest' from Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens (Hodder & Stoughton, 1912). Rackham occasionally developed smaller drawings into full-scale watercolours (see 'Storm Cloud', developed from an illustration from Undine sold in these rooms, July 2002, lot 754). The frame backing includes the original exhibition labels from the 1913 Leicester Galleries sale. The purchaser is named as Kyrle Smith.
