188 by 214mm., single cell on background, mount inscribed by Walt Disney ("To Edgar Ricketts | Best Wishes | Walt Disney"), 'original WDP' stamp and studio label on reverse, framed and glazed, slight warping to cell



The studio label and mount note that the cell originates from Der Fuhrer's Face, an animated short from 1943. The scene does not, however, appear in the cartoon. The reverse of the frame includes a note by John Edgar Ricketts noting that the cel was autographed by Disney during a visit to London in 1947. Photocopies of provenance material is included with this lot.
