Description
- Three typed letters signed, to Woods Gray at the Department of English, Louisiana State University

Thomas, a friend of my elder brother, who is now dead..."), mentioning F.V. Morley and John Hayward (neither of whom "belong in that category"), and explaining that he never met John Quinn, who arranged contracts for his first two books in New York and bought the pencilled typescript of The Waste Land, and to whom Eliot gave an earlier notebook of poems; in the last letter Eliot explains why he cannot contribute to the Southern Review, and asks Gray to give his regards to Jackson and Wilson Knight ("...I have very much enjoyed the books of both of the brothers..."); 3 pages in all, 4to, on headed stationery of Faber and Faber (one letter an aerogramme, another on airmail paper), 2 July 1959, 26 April 1961 and 7 November 1963, aerogramme torn where opened (no loss), slight creasing
