Description

  • A piece of khadi cloth signed by Gandhi and said to have been woven by him
hand-woven white cotton (420 x 390mm.) with a simple purple border, signed by Gandhi in gujarati, also signed by Sarojini Naidu, Gandhi's personal secretaries Mahadev Desai and Pyarelal [Nayyar], "Meera" in Hindi (perhaps Meerabai the devotional Bhajan singer), and one other, inkstains, spotting, somewhat grubby 

Provenance

A gift from Gandhi to the South African born actress Moira Lister, who was a friend of Gayatri Devi, Maharani of Jaipur.
