  • A Persian Bronze Protome of a Feline, Seljuk
  • Height 8 1/4 in. 21 cm
in the form of the forequarters of a feline with openwork palmette on the chest, recessed mouth and eyes and scrolling vine on the high erect ears.

acquired by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Manheim prior to 1971
formerly on loan to the Brooklyn Museum, inv. no. L70.25.4

Condition

As shown, four small holes on back appear to be casting flaws, palmette-shaped hole underneath chipped along the edges, open-work palmette on chest pushed in somewhat, other minor chips and casting flaws
