- An Etrusco-Corinthian Pottery Trefoil Oinochoe
- Height 12 in. 30.5 cm.
with flaring foot, broad pyriform body, trefoil mouth painted with eyes, and high double handle, the body decorated in black and red in two registers with friezes of panthers, lions, and stout-bodied birds, a seated sphinx in the lower register below the handle, two of the felines with conjoined heads.

Condition
Paint somewhat worn in areas, most of the paint worn away on part of side not shown, rim repaired with small area of restoration on spout including part of one eye, a repaired hole near foot with some restorations along the breakline, several small areas retouched, hairline crack

Catalogue Note
The form and decorative scheme of this oinochoe are very close to Louvre CA 3268 (see J.G. Szilágyi, Etrusko-korinthosi vázafestészet [Etrusco Corinthian Vase-Painters], Budapest, 1975, pl. XXV, 35-36), although it does not appear to be by the same painter.
