  • A Sarcophagus Fragment with Two Youths
  • 6 1/2 by 11 1/2 in. 16.5 by 29.2 cm.
probably from the lid of a sarcophagus, carved with the figures of two youths facing right, one holding a spear(?) in his left hand and wearing a mantle fastened with a circular brooch on the shoulder, the original polish mostly preserved.

Condition

good and as shown; surface somewhat worn in areas, minor chips, remains of plaster on the edges of the breaks are a result of it once having been set into a wall.
