  • A Marble Relief Portrait Head of a Man
  • Height 13 in. 33 cm.
with prominent chin, aquiline nose, deep-set eyes with crow's feet, and furrowed brow, his hair falling in comma-shaped locks over the forehead.

Professor Ernst Langlotz (1895-1978), Bonn, acquired in Germany in the 1950s
by descent to the present owner

Condition

Good and as shown, less of proper right side side of face is preserved than of left side, minor chips over encrusted but well preserved surface, remains of cement on one of the breaks bisecting upper ledge, drilled in back and mounted on a heavy stone base dating to the 1920s or 30s.
