STRUCTURE
The canvas has been lined.
PAINT SURFACE
The painting appears to be in very good condition.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light reveals scattered minor retouching and some strengthening in the sky, upper centre and upper left. Otherwise the picture appears to be in largely good original condition.
FRAME
Held in a British Baroque Revival moulded and gilded frame, with a glass front.
