Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalgue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonlaity is warmer with the white tending more towards cream in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to fully convey the rich surface texture apparent in the original. Condition: This work is good condition. Some extremely light wear is visible to the lower left and right extreme corner tips. On close examination in raking light there are a few extremely fine and stable isolated hairline cracks scattered throughout. Examination under ultra-violet light reveals a few patches of retouching to upper centre and centre of the composition, with further retouchings and consolidation to a few cracks scattered elsewhere.
