Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly softer, with the white tending more towards ivory in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. On close examination there is some very light wear around the extreme edges and corner tips, and a few extremely light handling marks, including towards the lower left and right corners, at the upper right corner and at the centre of the right edge. There are minute pinprick-sized fly spots towards the top of the left extreme edge and left of centre on the top extreme edge. Extremely pale and unobtrusive media accretions are visible on close examination to the right of the figure's left leg, in between his legs and beneath his left arm, where there is also a very minor short rub mark. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
