Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the whites are slightly warmer in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is a small patch of paint loss in the top left hand corner (visible in the catalogue illustration), a minute speck of loss to the top edge 10cm to the left of the top right corner and a few further isolated minor losses to the protruding burlap elements. There 3 extremely fine hairline cracks visible only upon close inspection in the top right hand corner. There are a number of tiny pinhead-sized fly spots scattered throughout, most notably above the central element on the left side of the composition. There is a light layer of dust and surface dirt adhering inside and around the layers of burlap across the centre. No restoration is apparent under ultra-violet light.
