Condition
There are major horizontal creases along the scroll. There is loss of the surface inked layer on several spots, most notably on the top of the lower character and to the left of the upper character, these measuring approximately 5 by 2cm. There are surface tears caused by the contraction of the inked (previously wet) layer, the longest measuring approximately 8cm long. All condition issues are most probably caused by excessive dryness. The creases can easily be corrected by a professional remounting of the scroll.
