"The image of the figure brought to the sculptures is exactly the same as used in the paintings. As it happened with the use of the figure, I started repeating it. The same approach seemed logical for the sculptures. Here I was drawn to making a visual parallel to the extraordinary Qin Dynasty (221-206 B.C.) terracotta warriors - hundreds of figures, all appearing exactly the same, but with minute differences, rather like human beings forming a contemporary army."
