Unframed. In good condition aside from surface dirt and scattered areas of paint loss, the largest lower center, approx. 1 by 1 inch. and upper left corner. Some areas where paint cracking and lifting. Small white spots of accretion lower right in bormn area and one spot purple upper right at edge. Area of abrasion center right in orange.

Catalogue Note
This is an early and unusually finished painting by Warhol showing the graphic style which would propel the artist to success in the 1950s. Warhol personally acknowledged George Grosz as a major influence on his style but there are compelling reasons to add Ben Shahn and Saul Steinberg as inspirational sources, which are evident in this work. It has never before been exhibited and has been in the same family collection since its creation.
