Condition

This work is in very good and sound condition overall. There is evidence of cracking in the painted background, as well as a few tears to the paper, which are presumably inherent to the artist's working method and are visible in the catalogue illustration of the work. The metal ring and chain move freely across a horizontal metal bar. There is some wear to the outer edges of the wood construction which is consistent with the working method of the artist.
