Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the white square tends more towards ivory and the two red stripes tend more towards a florescent red/orange in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Upon close inspection, there is very light wear in several isolated places along the top and right extreme edges of the white square of canvas. There is a light rub mark to the lower right hand corner of the red pigment. Close inspection of the left flank of the black rectangle (approximately 30cm in from the left edge) shows faint traces of splash marks running down the composition. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
