Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although there are more coral undertones throughout and the paper tone tends more towards ivory in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to convey the metallic quality of the pigment present in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. The sheet is attached to the backing board in several places at intervals on the reverse. The left, right and bottom edges are deckled and the sheet undulates slightly. There is a thin band of discolouration surrounding the enamel, visible in the catalogue illustration and inherent to the artist's choice of medium. There are four very faint and unobtrusive handling marks: one to the centre of the left extreme edge, and one to the top left, right and bottom right hand corners respectively. Upon very close examination, there is a tiny spot of extremely light surface dirt towards the top of the left edge and a further tiny spot towards the top of the right edge. There are two pinhead-size paper protrusions towards the lower left corner, original to the work's execution. Unexamined out of the frame.
