Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is a minute speck of paint loss in the lower left corner tip. There is an irregularity to the stretcher adjacent to this, resulting in a small recess to the canvas. 2 cm. above the bottom edge, there is a small rub mark with associated paint loss to the immediate left of the strawberry in the lower right quadrant. There is a further tiny rub mark, approximately 20 cm. to the left of this. There are faint lines within the paint surface of the lower left quadrant. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.

Catalogue Note

"I make things that can be grasped in a second but which are not what they seem. What I love about being an artist is that you have to live in the present moment." Exhibition Catalogue, Liverpool, Tate Liverpool, Marc Quinn, 2002, n/p
