Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant in the original, tending more to true IKB blue. Condition: This work is in very good condition. The sheet is hinged to the backing plexi at the top edge and the lower part is slightly undulated. There is a minute pinprick-sized speck of paint loss to the lower right corner tip, where the paper is slightly raised. There is very light wear to one or two of the impasto peaks in the upper left composition and also in the lower composition. There is a minute white speck adhering to the centre of the sheet, with several further tiny white specks of dust visible on very close inspection. Under raking light there are scattered fingerprints visible to the surface. No restoration is apparent under ultra-violet light.

Catalogue Note

``[Each] nuance of each color is definitely a `presence,' a living being, an active force which is born and dies after having lived a sort of drama of the life of colors.''
