La parure - dont en particulier l'ample coiffe à bord en éventail - identifie d'emblée le personnage à son statut de souverain. A la conception idéalisée du thème répond la grande maîtrise plastique, puissamment rythmée par les volumes projetés dans l'espace, et par la résonnance des formes. La qualité dans le rendu des détails est mise en valeur par la belle patine nuancée, brun rouge.
Son style la rattache à "l'école Muzamba", qui s'est développé dans la partie occidentale du pays d'origine des Tshokwe au plus tard à la fin du XIXe siècle.
