Good overall condition. Later angle blocks to underframes. One H-shaped stretcher with a repair connecting it to a rear leg. One chair with a re-joined back leg. Minor old marks and scratches. Good colour and patina

The form of the splat has affinities with those on an Irish chair back settee illustrated in F. Lewis Hinkley, A Directory of Antique Furniture, 1953, p. 250, pl. 781, where a similarity with Philadelphia design is noted.
