Description

  • 70.5cm. high, 118cm. wide, 76cm. deep; 2ft. 3¾in., 3ft. 10½in., 2ft. 6in.
the top with a reading slope on a ratchet flanked by twin compartments with bowed hinged lids, with a drawer, on square tapering legs

Condition

The slope has some cracks along the lines of construction and some fragmentation of the timbers due to shrinkage and movement of the secondary timbers with some consequential distortion of the line inlay. The flaps on both ends have some similar shrinkage and consequent distortion. Both flaps have some staining and minor patches around the hinges and inset filets of timber to compensate for shrinkage. There are further some minor age cracks to the top right hand edge. Old marks and scratches. One key.
