PAINT SURFACE
The painting appears to be in good condition.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light reveals minor scattered retouching, predominantly to the mouth and jaw line of the sitter. There is also an opaque varnish in the body of the sitter, as well as to the background.

Held in a gilded, baroque style frame.
