Condition

Pile generally good dense closely sheered 1/10th of an inch. Silk powdering slightly, foundation very slightly stiff, will break under pressure. Scattered spot stains and discolorations, recommend careful cleaning. A 12 inch by 1 inch reweave in right side guard border, very well executed. Remnants of original light blue silk selvages with losses and later overcasting and some fraying, recommend securing. Lower end with 1/2 inch ivory flatwoven end finish and knotted warp fringes with losses to fringes and a 10 inch area of fraying into the flatweave. No loss of pile at lower end. Upper end with remnants of flatweave and minor losses into light blue outer guard stripe, recommend securing. Handsome classic Persian silk rug.
