Pile generally good, near original 1/8th of an inch with areas of wear through center down to knotheads and spot foundation. Lovely lustrous wool of different varieties, some possibly camel and sheep wool. Lightly chemically washed to fade colors. Remnants of flat woven lower end finish. Both end finishes now with trimmed flatweave and cloth tape sewn to reverse. Sides with minor repaired splits and glue residue on reverse, the largest slit approximately 15 inches long glued on reverse. A very small 1 in. by 1 in. reweave in one corner. Very supple handle, unusual frolicking animals and birds in design and large scale floral motif typical of older Kirman weavings. Good overall condition.
