Condition

Pile generally low to knotheads throughout with a few scattered areas of slightly higher approximately 1/0th of an inch pile. The carpet has been reduced in width and in length with a vertical cutting running along the inside of the left border and a horizontal cut running in the middle of the carpet, as visible in the catalogue illustration. Small 1/2 inch by 1 inch nick out of the right side border. Scattered repaired slits. Two approximately 12 inch slits into one corner. A few holes at upper end of carpet with some repaired and all secured with patches on reverse. Scattered foldwear, some showing spot foundation. Overtinting throughout, mostly visible on reverse. Sides overcast, ends missing outer guard stripes, now secured with cloth tape sewn on reverse. Supple handle, sound fabric and condition, will enhance with cleaning and restoration. Impressive size and attractive overall design.
