A Large Quantity of Wools and Silks,

comprising over 2,000 bundles, skeins and balls of wool and silk in a wide range of colors, now in 23 plastic containers.

Many bundles of the wool and silk in this lot were acquired from the Estate of Lilian Barton Wilson, proprietor of The Studio of Needlecraft, a shop with premises on East 57th in New York City during the first half of the 20th century.  Ms Wilson was also the author of numerous works such as "The Revival of Needlepoint Tapestry for Upholstery" published circa 1920 and therefore some of these skeins could date from the first quarter of the 20th century.
